Here’s a short description over my journey to this. Enjoy reading ☺️
As a kid, I used to write my interest on a paper. Just like every other girl, I wanted to become just anything related to fashion, so whenever people used to ask me that what I wanted to become , my answers used to be primarily a model, Miss India, Air hostess, salon owner, actress or a fashion designer.
My first inspiration was my maternal aunt, whom I used to look up for makeup and fancied her bags her dressing up what not 😆. Whenever she used to get ready I used to diligently look at her what she applied on her face to enhance that beauty. I should be around 7 years back then. This is when I developed penchant for makeups.
My glam interest had always pushed me towards dressing up, fashion, makeup, playing with colors that reflected in my art & craft from the days in school. Also, I had always been open to accepting challenges belonging to different fields since my mind kept hovering in trying something new that came in my way and thus deciding over my likes and interests.
My career journey has been quite adventurous & experimental , I never considered age as a bar to learn anything new.
Starting as a commerce student in the school, to being a management graduate and post graduate, further doing job in Mutual Funds operations manager, I decided this wasn’t really my field of interest. I wasn’t made for doing a desk job & wanted to start something in creative field of my own . So I gave it a break and without givin a second thought followed my heart & enrolled myself for fashion designing course at the age of 27, gradually rolling out my own fashion label ‘Fablique’ my dream label it was.
I modeled for my own brand. You see how dreams were coming in place. Started off well with it & flourished really well for initial years but probably there was something more to my destiny.
After few years of Fablique, received an offer for collaborating with a salon brand. So I thought yes I’ll b more keen to do makeups too. Something that I manifested decades before was seemingly showing up turning real. I did my makeup course and started off with the new salon project. Faced a lot many ups and downs over the years which lead me learn from my own mistakes, building communication, handling situations, all this got me gaining perfection gradually. There has been no end to my learning even till date I still learn may it be social media, new tricks, stock markets and what not.
So my life has always been a delight & equally struggling and adventurous .
I always looked up to my dreams and never hesitated to start with anything new. Nothing goes waste.
My job career made me experienced enough to deal with clients in a professional way, my commerce knowledge made me smart enough to organise my own accounts, my knowledge of fashion designing really helps me in presenting myself and helping my clients to dress up for their special days, amalgamating colors & contrasts.
I am also a mom of 2 kids, a boy and a girl. It’s been hard but not impossible. All you need to do is identify your support system and schedule your time. One needs to find out ways to continue working & being financially independent. Support from my family was the biggest thing I had and I’m so grateful to it.
In all I can say, my life has made me learn and earn from my own varied experiences and the person I’m today is far more knowledgeable than what I would have been sticking to just one field in my career.
Point of view : Never stop learning & don’t make your age an excuse to try something new. Keep the spark always burning
