In the early 90s, when I was in school, sports were a significant part of my life. I was a district-level athlete, and running on the track was one of my passion. Those were the days when I could balance my studies and sports and enjoy the best of both the worlds.

But life has a way of taking unexpected turns. As I entered the 11th and 12th standard, the focus shifted to studies. The pressures of exams and the dreams of becoming an engineer led me away from sports altogether and, athletics took a back seat.
Fast forward to today, and I find myself not on the running track but as the founder and chief curator of Wonder Woman Wednesday, a platform dedicated to celebrating the achievements of remarkable women like Vandana Rao and her peers.
Vandana Rao’s story resonates with me in a special way. She, was one of the first female icons in the world of athletics. She stepped onto the track and rewrote history. She faced her share of challenges and obstacles, but she didn’t let them deter her.

Vandana Rao and many other extraordinary women of her generation are a testament to the power of resilience and determination. Despite facing societal norms and limited opportunities, they broke barriers and paved the way for future generations of women. Her journey, from her athletic days to becoming a symbol of athletic excellence in her field, is a source of inspiration. It’s a reminder that no matter where life takes you, your passion and determination can lead to remarkable achievements.
At Wonder Woman Wednesday, we celebrate stories like Vandana Rao’s because they remind us that every woman has the potential for greatness. Whether it’s in sports, engineering, or any other field, women continue to break through barriers and shatter stereotypes.

So, while I may not be on the running track anymore, I’ve found a new way to celebrate the achievements of incredible women like Vandana Rao. Wonder Woman Wednesday is a tribute to their resilience, strength, and unwavering spirit.
Together, we honor their journeys and continue to be inspired by their remarkable stories of success.
