First Impression Matters

Just like every other person in this world, I have heard the cliché “It is the first impression that matters” numerous times. I do not want to but I have to admit that I strongly believe that it is most certainly true.

One such experience is working under an organization.

The person made her first-hand impression very warm. She was a stranger when I had one on one conversation with her which was only for half an hour but turned out beautifully till 1 hour. Strange yet comfortable.

My first one on one conversation has been the most versatile talk I ever had. She is so understanding and open. She understood my goals better than anyone else. She had a deeper outlook towards life, she took up the charge to work not just on my professional but also personal growth.

Even in the cases of misunderstanding, conflict resolution is an amazing quality she possesses. She treats me with equal respect. It’s not a one way internship I am having.

She analyzed and worked on my skills and bring out that potential out of me in real world. That made me proud of the decision to join the internship.

For every intern it becomes very essential to have a good guidance. She made me realized that even if having an internship is the most challenging part of any students life yet it is more of having a personal growth too.

While working she not just allot me the tasks but help me complete the same in the best possible manner. Here, her quality of giving good guidance reflects the most. She made me so comfortable that I am every time open to ask any questions to her. I opened up with her faster than I do with my friends I’ve known for long.

She taught me of how to have a very fresh perspective on what is professionalism. Earlier then I was not well versed with this professional life but after coming in contact with her, in my internship program I understood the real meaning of being professional rather than just calling yourself a professional.

Working with her has impacted my life on a deeper level. She helped me develop my skills more. She got me to start writing even. She took out time to optimize my LinkedIn profile even though it was not her duty. She made me understand the value of writing daily. In this way she cultivated in me the habit of good writing and thoughtful communication skills.

25 she is, yet trying to give her best. She is constantly working hard towards her goal and inspiring to do the same. She never made me felt that it’s her organization and not mine. Rather she makes me feel that this is not just her but my job too.

Without even seeing my resume she selected me as an intern in her organization. She helped me realize my potential that by having good communication skills i can reach at any levels.

This shows her ability to spot a person who is interested to learn. In her young age she has achieved all of this because of her hard work and dedication.

With such empathetic, compassionate and supportive mentor, this experience is helping me achieve my goals that stand out to me as the most influential aspect of my development.

Throughout my journey till date, I am fully confident to admit that what all skills I am possessing and cultivating in my self has been taught and inculcated in me by my mentor – Gautami Seth.

Grateful to have her in my life.
