Strength, hope and faith

The journey of life pushes you into unexpected circumstances and takes you into unpredicted paths. It is only strength, hope and faith that gets you through.

Hi, I am Sudha. I am the eldest daughter of my dad and mom, followed by a sister and brother. I was from a middle-class family and our childhood memories are not so colorful. But luckily for me my bonding with my sister and brother was good.

My father was capable person with a respectful profession and handful of returns to lead a happy life. He was a loving father, but the “bad habits” cultivated by him swallowed him and cast a black shadow on our future. At the age of 14 I lost my father and responsibility of the 3 children were on the shoulders of my mom.

I still remember those days of struggles we had to go through. Trying to manage everything and the harsh reality of life that was thrown at us where we understood who our real family were and how people get treated when they are at the mercy of others.

Once I had my degree in hand, I thought about helping my mom. My sister and brother were studying. I got a job. Though the salary was minimum, I was working with great enthusiasm, and I could learn a lot of things about practical life. My boss was my philosopher and my role model. I loved my work.

Meantime my mom successfully settled my marriage at the age of 22. Though I was not ready to marry at that age and stage, I agreed to respect my mom’s struggle.

A new era started in my life in the year 1997 with a new dream of colorful life ahead. My in-law’s family were from a respected middle-class family. My in-laws were good and took good care of me.

Within a span of 6 years; I became a proud mother to 2 boys. By that time, I understood that my own family members used my husband’s goodness, and we had some loans to take care of. I was now forced to enter the fray to support my husband with my one-year-old baby. I worked hard with vision to clear loans of my husband in small instalments.

In the year 2010; I again got a shock knowing that my husband had “Brain Tumor”. Along with this stress, the entire responsibility of family, pressure of loans, children’s education; their needs and the dairy business responsibility shook me. I had no one to share nor to care; God was the only savior during this time. At this juncture, I too fell sick with brain nervousness & low B.P.

To face all these negativities, I relied upon my honest efforts & truthful heart. I got all the loans of my husband transferred into my name and relieved my husband from the stress and tensions.

In the year 2016 my younger brother in- law expired and that shock pushed my husband to lose his memory and finally within two months he too breathed his last.

The society’s treatment to a widow upset me. My own people did not trust me. I did not give up. God on whom I kept my faith with honesty rewarded a good opportunity to my elder son who did his Diploma and got placed at a great organization. My younger son is still studying.

The only thing that has kept me going through all this was my strength and the desire to see a bright future for my boys. My faith in God and my boys are now stronger than ever and I now see a ray of hope which is enough to light my life.
