Being a victim of domestic violence from an abusive and life-threatening marriage at an early age of 25, my past hasn’t stopped me! I am Suma Narasa Prakash, a cosmic lover, more known as a multi-faceted person.

A Software engineer, by profession, currently working as TL in Oracle. An easy way to introduce you to one of my tech works would be through your Aadhaar card. The complex QR code that you see on the Aadhaar cards is implemented by me and this was done 12 years before when QR code was just emerging with no tools as those of today! I have also made an invention in barcode reading and this happens to be in the very first year of my career around the age of 21. The patent application papers are published in both India and U.S councils.

I feel we all hold the blessing to live life in ‘n’ dimensions irrespective of life issues and its only our mindset that can stop us or top us!

I also run a voluntary knowledge-sharing platform open for all with the belief that knowledge is eternal.

In every phase of life, I strive to do something special so that when turned back I feel it worthy and lived. I believe in ‘Live the best, Leave the rest!’ and wish to help more people feel the same about their lives too, as universe is at bliss only when all are at bliss!

With such a dream, I started S.A.V.E – ‘S’erve ‘A’nd ‘V’alue ‘E’very-life, a zero funded, non-profit, voluntary community. A unique selfless platform that runs specifically crafted causes for saving and touching lives! All my causes are voluntary and free, as I believe anything divine cannot be charged! It is open to anyone in need! S.A.V.E volunteers get an opportunity to save lives on ground or even from their homes too! My Service Tagline “A good deed is like a seed!”

S.A.V.E currently runs 3 WINGS:
Red Saviours: Physically saving lives through blood and blood components via unique causes. The journey began five years ago when I received a simple blood request message forward, where-in I felt the need to act rather than merely forward it. Little did I know that this would mark the beginning of a relentless pursuit of coordinating blood donations saving countless lives. Operating as a one-woman powerhouse, I have done over 800 lifesaving coordinations till date. Taking on the immense responsibility of administration and coordination between blood banks, donors, and patients, it is a journey unseen and untold. I receive calls around the clock from critical cases spanning various cities and age groups, ranging from newborns to the elderly. My primary focus lies in helping patients, particularly children in government hospitals who lack literacy, financial support, and alternative options. I also strive to bring more people into the life-saving world of blood donation. Red Saviours has aided 40 critical cases in just 2.5 months during peak covid lockdown; 155 blood donations for 15 thalassemia kids adopted during covid crisis 2020-2021 and 144 SDP donations for 80+ cancer kids/patients since 2022. I have also crafted an awareness song on Eye Donation which I voluntarily have distributed to 15 Eye hospitals in Bengaluru to promote the noble deed.

Mind Warriors: Recognizing the importance of mental health, I launched Mind Warriors, to combat the prevailing social stigma in seeking help for mental health issues via a unique mode called anonymous counselling. This wing also provides telephonic and in-person mental health counselling and has aided to over 40 clients of various issues and ages including suicide prevention, depression, trauma handling etc. The wing also conducts various mental health workshops and trainings. A life is saved if nurtured at a young age is what I believe, hence we have dedicated causes for budding children. Through our weekly ‘Value Education’ cause they learn various life skills and over 35 kids benefitting from it. I also offer career guidance to young minds!

Animal Carers: Saving animals and birds. I have aided to over 30 animals so far, and upon research, I observed a critical gap in animal and bird rescue services due to the risk of infections and compatibility issues. To bridge this gap and provide a comprehensive solution for the public, I have established Animal Carers—a one-stop platform for animal and bird rescues, ensuring that no distressed creature is left without assistance. I have also encouraged people to ‘Adopt but not Shop’ animals / birds. I have adopted animals at Mysuru rehabilitation centre/zoo and Hebbal vet hospital, fostered and inspired many to free feed and place water tubs for animals and birds at home terraces. I also spread awareness on possible threats to animals and birds and how to prevent them, do’s and don’ts in helping the voiceless in distress. I have even trekked to the Everest Base Camp to promote the essence of instilling the belongingness for each other and how S.A.V.E stands for it!
